Without nurses we would be living with a very different medical system. The nurses in our doctors offices, hospitals, and care facilities keep the world moving! Sure the doctors write the prescriptions but the nurses keep us company, they keep us comfortable, they feed us, and care for us, they clean up after us, they care. National Nurses day is a great chance for all of us to celebrate the amazing nurses in our lives!
The Best of the Best: Thank You To All Of Our Nurses
Nurses face many difficulties in their jobs. They deal with cranky patients, painful losses, long hours, snarky doctors, and more. Many of us don’t know what it takes to be a nurse in the modern medical field. They are a valuable asset to our healthcare system and we think they deserve more than just one day of national recognition!
3 Ways To Show Appreciate To Your Nurses
Thank Them!
Do you know that a thank you can go a long way?! Stop and thank them. Even if they’re just helping someone in your life or passing through on an overnight shift, take the time to stop and thank them. Show them the same respect that you would your doctors, specialists, etc.
Trust Their Judgement
A lot of people go through life assuming that doctors are the ones who know things. Nurses are required to know a ton of information and they put that into practice saving lives and healing bodies eery single day. Stop second guessing them, stop waiting to hear the same words from a doctor. Respect the knowledge that they have and treat them with the respect they deserve!
Ask Questions & Pay Attention
This can go from the care side to a little encounter in a coffee shop. Ask questions about their day, be interested in them, and pay attention. There’s nothing worse than being told care instructions and then disregarding them! It’s also no fun to be constantly caring for patients and then being ignored! They work hard to provide you with amazing care. Give them your full attention whenever possible.
